I have never fished for redfish but I’m going to have a little time in the next couple of weeks. I have thought about loading up my kayak and heading down to the Venice LA area and giving it a try. My concern is with the cooler temps and wondering what temperature water redfish prefer. Any information provided would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Fish are cold blooded. They don’t know hot from cold.
All they do is eat 51 weeks a year one week for making babies.

A redfishes life is dictated by what’s on the menu. Cold gray days there’s not much plankton activity so they’ll usually be deeper waiting for something of opportunity to wonder by. Sunny day? Different deal the bait will be shallow being active so the predators will be there with them.

New Year’s Day a few years ago. They were ganged up in a foot of water and super active.
