So, what you’re saying is that the olds enjoy donating their money to the ‘yutes?

He is saying he doesn’t know what he is talking about. I want to bring one of these old codgers with me and show me how to program my “scope” so the fish just jump in the boat.

SteezMacQueen will show you roflmao

All I can teach is how to go though several packs of shaky head hooks anymore. I used four packs yesterday for two fish. roflmao

It was always about the money. Monetizing fishing sucked, still sucks and will continue to suck.

Not to mention ffs has drove a lot of viewers away. YouTube content creators and ffs in tournaments
have had a negative effect on so- called professional anglers.

Only ones driven away by FFS is technology challenged olds. If anything FFS has brought in a whole new generation of fisherman.

My old feelings are hurt, I need a good discrimination lawyer. Anyone know if AARP has a discount for one? 😎

Didn’t say they jump in the boat but if you find them and can see where they are and how they react or not
to you offering you certainly have a leg up. And don’t give that [censored] about just another tool bs.

And once again, if it’s so easy why are so many old tour guys getting their brains beat in and getting kicked out of the leagues? popcorn

I think the term professional fishing is misleading. I will guess that there are under 100 professional fishermen (tournament winnings + social media revenue + sponsorships + guiding revenue + lure/tackle company revenue/ownership + tournament trail ownership percentage then subtract overhead costs) who thrive.

I’ve been told that sponsorship provides the income a professional fisherman must have to support his family….tournament winnings are just a bonus..

LOL, just about any fishing product company will tell you that the majority of their promotions are now done on Youtube/social media. Most, if not all, of them have scaled their sponsorship of pro fishing WAY back already.

Then how do I buy baits? I watch zero youtube and only scan facebook. Cuz I go to store or retailer directly. I never buy baits or boats or products based on some “pro”. Most of its junk anyway.

Petro, you aren’t influenced in any way? You don’t read a fishing magazine, articles online, anything?

There is a pile of good information available on YouTube that isn’t junk, you should check it out.

I honestly can't think of anything I have purchased that I saw a pro using or promoting somewhat recently. Youtube sways my purchasing more than anything these days. I honestly don't see any value sponsoring a "PRO" in fishing unless they have a really big social media presence, and most don't. PRO's living off sponsorship money is going to be a thing of the past soon I believe. PRO's will be kids being paid by their mommy's and daddy's. That's where it's headed, and I'm good with that.
