Yes; the Lakers have had an annoying fifty plus years of ridiculously odd good fortune.
Wilt from Phili for cash, Chambers, and Clark
Kareem from the Bucks for Brian Winters and Elmore Smith
Then they get the best player ever Magic Johnson first pick and almost immediately followed by first pick overall James Worthy gifted by Cleveland)
Then Shaq from Orlando followed immediately by the weird draft day gift of Kobe from Charlotte then somehow defusing that Colorado situation.
Then Paul Gasol sweet deal from Memphis
The NBA finally squashed this silliness by vetoing the Chris Paul trade.
…and now the fleecing of the Mavericks for Luka. Are you saying there is a script

I’m hearing the Celtics would have been willing to trade Jaylen Brown plus two or three first round picks.
This would have been the better deal….that young man dominated the finals last year
It is odd that Nico chose to only negotiate with one entity….common sense that you get the best value when there is competition for trade offers.
That would be probably the dumbest trade offer ever if Boston did that.

luka is 25 years old! He played over 100 games and 40 minutes a game last year, the out of shape bull is crazy. As he ages he may have to change some things. What did you do in your early 20s? Luka is ruthless, he can pick the best defender in the game, with it on the line, look him in the eye, and make a basket, all the while telling that defender he sucks....compare to Dak who crumbles under pressure! Luka will win multiple MVP's with the Lakers and I hate Lebron! Mavs got taken to the bank.

its incredible ironic that so many of you cite Luka's injuries when talking about a trade for Anthony "Street Clothes" Davis 100%. That argument is stupid. This is by far the dumbest trade in Dallas sports history. It's worse than firing Tom Landy or Jimmy. I don't care how much Luka complained or was "out of shape". He's a top 3 player in the league without question. Just when you think it's over, Nico says hold my beer. Let's trade a 24-year-old wing who has been a solid piece for a nearly 30-year-old wing/forward who hasn't played in a month due to injury. Freaking brilliant. Someone needs to take the keys away from this idiot.

I own 4 season tickets. My brothers own 8 season tickets. They are all going back. Nobody is answering the phones so we are sending emails. Nico has 4 armed guards in front of his house right now. A trade that eliminates all season ticket holders and requires armed guards, should not have been approved by the league. And I don't think destroying the fan base of the 5th largest media market will help the struggling ratings. This a nightmare I can't wake up from.
