I've chopped up perfectly good rods to change model and upgrade to a different series.

Wow a proud crook.

Yeah and Gary knew it, I was over at his SS warehouse one day exchanging a rod for a buddy. He said after the XP series came out it was amazing how many people sawed up their old Champion and DX rods and sent them in just so they could get the new XP. I still like the old original DX's and will buy them when I find them in good condition. Just bought a DX 784 ML back in Nov.

I finally got by Lake Fork Resort. First off I haven’t been in there in quite a while and they have really expanded their tackle since they did away with the cafe area. And they have a great selection of Dobyn’s rods.
I walked in with my broke rod. The guy Bob behind the counter took the rod, I picked out a new rod, took it to the counter, gave Bob my info and paid the replacement fee, had a pleasant conversation with him being an older Fork angler like me, then went out and had a nice conversation with a couple of guys gassing up their boat and gave them some of my Jigs I have been making and then headed to Lake Fork Lures.
A really great experience and headed home with a new Champion XP rod.

Welp I guess I will see how it works since I broke my new Sierra after 10 casts. Pretty bummed. Felt good

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

It's a way to upgrade. They said I'd get a little more sending the whole thing in but the logo section is fine

A buddy of mine I work with has been dealing with a Dobyns warranty replacement for a couple of weeks and has been a huge pain in his [censored]. Said he's spen a ton of time on the phone and emailing back and forth. Says he's going back to Loomis after the debacle he's been dealing with.

Horrible; if you buy something…especially American made; you treat it with respect for the workers who built it.

Dobyns rods are mass produced in China

Sounds like the beginning of the Private Equity ruination of yet another outdoor brand.

They should be adding a form to the warranty section. Watch out for it or send em an email and ask for it.

The Warranty Form was put out on the Dobyn's Rods Community page by Chris already.
