Any opinions on which manufacture to go with for Forward facing sonar on Lund 18ft boat? Mostly crappie fishing.

Garmin GPS Map 1222 from David at Shut up and fish is the best bang for the buck IMO. I’ve seen them all and for crappie fishing nothing else compares to the Garmin.

Those that use the Garmin. Do you prefer the touch screen or the non touch screen. Thanks

Those that use the Garmin. Do you prefer the touch screen or the non touch screen. Thanks The only time it matters to me is when it is really really cold. I would rather have the non-touch screen than remove my gloves. Outside of this it is personal preference IMHO.

I like my Garmin touchscreens, I have one on the console and one on the bow and an LVS 34 transducer. The good thing about live scope is you can sure see if there are any fish on the particular cover or structure. The bad thing is that it will not make them bite.

I run the 126 garmin with the 34. I run a dedicated lithium 14.8 volt and it does well.

Any opinions on which manufacture to go with for Forward facing sonar on Lund 18ft boat? Mostly crappie fishing. I've never seen the Humminbird or the Lowrance. But, from what i hear, Garmin is the front runner, by a long way. Lowrance is a distant second with Humminbird being not worth the money. I only have experience with Garmin but it's the real deal!
