You da man,

Regarding Dodge and their problem selling new cars, hardly anybody buys a Dodge truck or car because it looks that good or had stellar reliability. They go for price and engine power. Just me, but I think V8’s are what keeps them alive, and right now they are barely alive. It comes down to V8s or death. I have to believe they know that.

I don't care what brand people think is or isn't good. I just want to be able to buy what I want, and I don't want a 4 cylinder motor or EV. I'm not going to drive one, period. I hope everyone who wants those things buys one. Buy ten for all I care.

A friend of my wife's and her family just lost their home because their Tesla charging port in the garage caught fire and burned it down. Not. Doing. It.

Wife bought a new 2024 Mercedes GLC 300 SUV a few months back. The car has a turbocharged 4 cyl that's quicker than the Mercedes E350 V6 she traded in. Little engine has tons of bottom end torque and does sub 6 second 0-60. Previously owned 2, 3.5L Ecoboost F150s and am a huge fan of turbocharged engines. That being said, I could give two [censored] how the little four banger sounds as long as it runs like a raped ape and gets 36 miles per gallon.

Just buy a truck, rip out the engine and put in a crate 454. Holly dual pumper carb, crane cam, hooker headers....it will rumble I guarantee...:) And all the pretty girls will stop and stare when you drive thru town...pulling your bad a** bass boat...:)

I do agree that there is nothing like a V8 in a pickup. No turbo or anything to mess up longevity of the motor.

I’m not a fan of using a turbo or a supercharger on an engine that can’t power the vehicle without it. Also, I have stuck with a rule and have tried to teach my kids, but they do learn eventually. That rule is, never buy the low end half of a high end brand. Little Mercedes, BMWs, Audis, etc..are generally boosted little tiny motors and cheap build quality built to hit a particular price point. I know when they are comparing small Benz’s and small BMW to Kia’s and Hyundais, there is a problem.

I have a buddy that's owned one of my area's highest rated auto shops 35+ years --- he swears by RAM . The quality went way up after the buyout.
I have a Tundra that has had lots of issues and it's never been driven hard . Let's not add the class action lawsuit for the " waste gate" issues on the super charged V6 and GM's new lawsuit on the 6.2 .

I trade off trucks every 150,000 miles, which is about two years and change. Ten, twelve, fifteen hour trips are routine. In a fit of weakness, traded for a hemi dodge two trucks ago. Had more foo-foo stuff in it than I could imagine, sounded cool, ran ok. But sheezoids, after eight or nine hours, had to take a vicoden when I got out of it. If all I did was commute to work or something it probably would have been ok, but it's not a long highway traveler at all.

^^^ Wisdom, ya'll can have your V-8's and I don't GAD I hope you enjoy the heck out of it. OTOH gimme a a smaller engine with more power than any V-8 out there and still gets 30+ mpg...

I'll admit what others won't. My '23 AT4X with the 6.2 has a nice growl and pretty powerful but no comparison to the 3.5EB I had in my F150. That 3.5TT has way more bottom end torque which shows when towing and doesn't need to down shift nearly as much.

It might be your back. My Ram rides as smooth as a caddy.

Don’t feel bad. I’m doing exactly what I want to do.
If I had to stare at the same four walls and put up with the same people’s junk I’d be a raving idiot.

It does give me somewhat of an opinion on what works.
But you do you.
