My fishing year has started with travel, sickness, fishing out of state, fishing new waters, having fish leave some of my normal fishing spots, and catching trash and logs. I finally decided to pull out the range cubes to get on the board for 2025. I ended up with a nice carp to start 2025. Let’s see yours.

I went out for a short trip , mostly to run the boat and check to see if fish were still on the brushpiles,
Ended up with 10 very nice crappie and 4 throwbacks. These crappie hit the lottery , as they were
released back into the lake , rather than into peanut oil.

First fish of the year was a 3lb 6 oz from Lake Casa Blanca.

Caught these and 4 others on New Year day.

Got a few of these on the 2nd.

Always good to start the year with a bass.

Side Note: First Carp of 2025. I had never ate a carp in my life, until I got married. My wife prepared a Small Mouth Buffalo and a Common Carp and both turned out pretty good. Both were baked on the half shell. I think she is going to put this one on the grill.
