i think we should be happy for some who has a mediocre 150k rig..... cause 200k is the norm, which we should all be happy about too.

200k boats are the norm, what’s going on now? Gold plated power poles?

A big chunk of those kids DO have their own boats now. Mom and dad bought them a $150,000 rig to chase the dream when they graduated high school. They have no job but they have mom and dad's credit card. They literally spend almost every day on the water. They travel the entire US fishing tournaments. These are the kids that are out there beating all the old guys. They are out there throwing a minnow at fish in 60ft of water, and win a fair amount doing it. They are the reason that when you look at tournament results on Rayburn, the names that we all got accustomed to seeing in the top 10 in virtually every single tournament on that lake are now in the bottom half or chose to not even enter the tournament. As a person having college aged kids, you would be shocked at how accurate I am on the description I just gave. Not sure what the end game is for many of these kids. They are amazing fishermen but are starting to figure out that making a true living in bass fishing is basically impossible for all but a very select few. I guess they fish until mom and dad take the card away. The bass fishing world has turned into quite the odd culture when you take a good honest look at it. I think the high school and junior fishing leagues have taken the place of the co angler as a learning tool. These kids get out of high school and they are ready to go win. It's a crazy new world.

That's exactly what I'm seeing.

What I'm seeing is they taught us a whole new way to fish and that we really didn't know as much about bass patterns as we thought we did. While we should be thankful for this far too many are butt hurt and resentful.

My comment wasn't about being resentful. I know lots of these kids winning and believe them to be really good kids. However, I believe what I said to be a very accurate description of the current state of bass fishing. I also believe it to be a big part of why the co angler programs are dying. Not saying it's good or bad. Just reality. I have kids involved in both high school and college fishing. Both have been very successful. Really the point is these kids whole lives revolve around fishing, and they have the financial backing from home to do it literally every day. So sure they are good at the technology, but their real advantage over the average weekend angler is they perfect the technology every single day at lakes all over the country. So their real advantage is time, not technology. And believe me when I say this, the good ones literally live on the water. There is lots of Trey McKinney's coming. You just don't know their names yet.

Bass fishing has a problem that other sports don't. The people who like to do it, often times, don't watch it.

Golfers love watching golf tournaments. Baseball, Football, and Basketball you often can't play as an adult so all you can do is watch it. Without real TV revenue from live events, pro fishing is always going to struggle.

You can't convince me that you're good looking enough or wealthy enough to be picky on TFF.

Ohhhh

I’m not sure - but one thing is for certain, if I spent 200K I wouldn’t be bragging
