Show up at 530am and are truck #70 in line. With 70 more behind me by the time the time the first gate opens.
Don't ever go back into the hell that is the concrete bathroom. Dude wipes and a thorny mesquite bush are way better options.
Get all excited when first gate opens then realize there's another wait coming. So when is the proper time to put the light pole in, remove tie down straps, remove transom saver, turn on graphs???
Tear the wheels off trailer on potholes that should be repaired by now. (remind self next time not to remove tie down straps so early!)
Cover newly detailed boat with a fine layer of dirt while following the truck/trailer ahead of you driving on the grass avoiding pot holes.
Go over the on-off headlight procedure on truck so partner knows how to turn lights off at ramp. (I think I've read about this once or twice on TFF)
Remind partner to close tailgate before going up the hill so ice chest doesn't slide out the back.
How early did these trailers on the lower level parking have to get in line?!?!? (That alone might be worth the 2am wake up next time)
Caught 15 fish and none of them were over 3lbs. Thought they were supposed to practically jump in the boat. But yes, in the middle of January it's nice to catch a few bass so I'm not complaining....too much.
Caught a nice bass off a lone tree in the back of a pocket and had a fisherman in another boat immediately cast on top of that exact tree. Same boat went around us (within 10 feet) and fished the shoreline I was heading down. Didn't seem to care one bit.
Who would think a 20mph wind would do that much damage on such a small lake!?!?
Back at ramp by 230pm. BIG mistake. Every bass club in north Texas has weigh ins between 2-3pm.
Finally get boat on trailer and wait in line as one truck is spinning their wheels on the slick hill. (ok with this delay as I had a chance to make sure tailgate was up and ice chest secure)
Why is traffic in Granbury SO bad at 330pm on a Saturday afternoon?!?!?
Get home to clean up boat and can't believe I've found the one lake with worse water spots than Texoma. (not to mention the dirt from the entrance road)
Can't wait to go back next year....but maybe on a Friday.

You forgot about the guy on the ramp next to you screaming because the old kingfisher beside him slide off the trailer early because of the steep ramp and pinballed into his skeeter scratching the decal.

Thank you for the report.
I was foolishly thinking of making the drive from E. Tx to fish with my grandson this weekend. You have reminded me why I need to stay at home.

I'm 35 minutes away and don't go anymore

We'll be there Saturday Feb 1. Looking forward to starting our season off with this same calamity.

Pass on weekends during club tournament season… it’s worth taking a day off if you really wanna enjoy Squaw after mid December. Cold water lakes are fishing so good right now anyway, only seen 5 bass boats total in the last 4 days on the water, and the bigs have been chewing!!

I spent the night in Granbury. I knew it would be a zoo on Saturday so I showed up at 4:30 a.m. I was only 25th in line. I’m sure somebody found ‘em but it wasn’t me. It sucked.

Trip there weekend before last and the fishing was lights out, best trip I've had there since it re-opened in 2011, maybe we just got lucky as I didn't see others catching like we were. Went to Fayette a week later and it sucked big time, sometimes your the windshield sometimes your the bug.

I like the guys that spend the two hour wait getting everything ready….digging out 14 rods. 10 minutes later they get in the boat and dig out 4 more. Then another 15’minutes they put 10 back in the box. Eat snacks. Get dressed. Then get undressed. Then pee in the road….then get dressed again. Then double check everything again. Put the light pole in….then ….when they finally start to launch….they forgot the plug and then it’s daylight….dont need the lights.

It’s a [censored] show. For sure.

Never once has my reservation ever been on their sheet of paper. I think I don’t even need one anymore.

The road is worse than Bagdad Highway. Looks like it’s been IED-ed for years and shelled for a few more.

Eat. Sleep. Fish.

What would be a good time to bring my family and ski boat if I wanted to launch without too much of a wait,..??

I think the pee caused the potholes.
