Wow went to Fork yesterday and the water temp was 39 degrees! Have no clue how to catch fish that cold. Stayed a hour and went to Welsh. Caught 17 dinks. Are there any big fish there anymore?

Its a good time to catch the biggest fish in the lake, like Barry St Claire did.

We have caught them on jigs fairly shallow in that range of water temps out there. The Ranch House area is a good area when its this cold. At least it has been in my experience. Nothing fancy, just keep your boat in the creek channel and pitch to to the stumps on the channel edge etc in there.

Bill Ockerhausen caught a 15.23 out of Welsh “just the other day”! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/01/full-34948-257414-img_1915.png)
