I've been on Fork and another little lake some playing with my new toys from David at Shut up and Fish getting everything dialed in and the bite's been good! We casted to open water fish with 1/4oz Slab Syndicate jigs in Popsicle and Bad Shad in 30-35 FOW with most suspended 18-20' down. The Fork bite was good on timber in 35-60 FOW and the fish were deep! Most were 28-32' down and we used the same 1/4oz Slab Syndicate jigs on 11' Jenko Kevin Rogers rods with a split shot above it. Took a buddy of mine James yesterday. He's gonna wanna sell all his trashfish gear and become a crappie guy after yesterday. We had 4 over 2 on my scale yesterday with a big fish of 2.35 on my light scale. Probably a 2.50 on a good scale. I haven't put the shotgun down yet, but the deer rifles put away till next year. I have days open the next 3 weekends if you want to get on the slabs. If you're thinking about spring trips I would get on the books soon. I only have a couple weekend days left in March and April and May is getting filled up too!

Good luck on the Nilgai hunt. Always heard they were best eating. Had a chance to go and asked a friend who I knew had hunted elk and Nilgai. Would you rather have Nilgai or elk? He didn't hesitate but immediately said Nilgai. After killing one and getting the first few bites, I knew he was right. Wife agreed also. Good eating.
