I bought a small trolling motor to add a splasher to my boat. Looks like there are a couple different splasher propeller options out there. Which splasher props do you use? Does anyone have a strong opinion to buy one over the other? Here are the two I see out there to buy: 1. https://my-site-103001.square.site/2. https://graylinebaittanks.com/products/fishing-supplies/Are there any others that any of you use that you recommend?

I use #1 and run it in the reverse mode on my trolling motor. It works as well as any splasher I have seen. It is very effective at pulling in fish.

So you are running it where the cups on the prop are going the wrong way? I noticed on a youtube video someone else was doing that too with that same prop...think that was Boone Boys (guy up in Oklahoma). Do you run it that to make it quieter?

I have used #1 style prop for at least 4 years. They work really well. I also run mine in reverse and it still calls the fish in just as well. The reason I run it in reverse is because the cups going backwards put less work on the trolling motor itself and that allows my battery charge to last longer

T Bird, I can fish all day from daylight until 7.00pm and my deep cycle blue top optima when in the forward position, the charge life left in it is around 10%. When I run it in reverse, the charge life left in it is 40%, plus in reverse the prop doesn’t throw up water on the boat like it does in the forward position.

I also have longer battery life and less water in the back of the boat.

#1 in reverse is best. Friend has this one and makes a better sound. I have #2 and works but his sounds better and throws less water.

Hey guys, thanks for the kind words, I make the one listed as #1, and I really enjoy the pictures, and fish reports, that many of you send. Makes my day, knowing you're out there having fun with my product!!

Something that works very well is to cut the blades off your trolling motor. Drill a hole through the hub and run the handle of a flat plastic cooking spoon through the hole. Once the handle is through the hub cut it off leaving about an inch poking through on the opposite side of the flat spoon. Heat that inch of handle with a propane torch until it gets soft and mash it flat. That will hold the spoon on the hub. Make sure the spoon portion is turned so that it slaps the water. In most flat cooking spoons there is a hollowed out area on the surface of the spoon. That hollowed out space is enough to add some thumping sound when the spoon hits the water. Note: make sure your hole only goes through the propeller portion of the motor hub that spins.
