I don't use the troll motor much, but when I want it I want it now.

Currently have a 36V motor guide with a single 36V lithium battery. Worked fine until it decided to quit working, and getting it repaired is painful.

Buddy has a 24V that will swap out for some stuff I don't use anymore.

Question, can I hook up the 36 to this motor and not burn it up?
Can I use a 36 to 24 step down transformer and it'll work?

Or quite being a cheap skate and buy another battery?

I would get 2 12v batteries and wire in series for 24v. A lot easier to replace one or both, even with a 12v flooded battery for temporary use if needed.

Batteries are mounted under console. Not a lot of room. Really like the single unit.

It’s not like bass fishing. Rarely gets any use. So don’t need a huge amount of storage hours.

It needs to be 24v going to the TM. I would sell the 36v and use the money towards the purchase of a single 24v. I wouldn't trust a stepdown transformer.

I wouldn’t trust the transformer either.

it's just an option, but, how big is that 36v battery? you say you don't use the tm too much, get a couple group 26 flooded batteries, they're under 9"x 6" or even smaller, a group 151. both can be had for under a c note each

I'd consider fixing the TM. Probably cheaper than new batteries.
