Hiring Schottenheimer would be a middle finger to the fans.
Yep, he would suk and be boring, like Campo. Jerry needs to think this through, $$$ goes down.
Great point - since he values money over wins, he prolly won’t.
Yep, no question a great point....
You left out one thing.... "control"....
Yes, Jerry has proven that $$$ IS more of a priority to him than winning.... Stephen, aka "cap boy," as well....
However, IMOP, he's just as much, or more, petrified of losing control over the team. Of no longer being perceived by the public as the all seeing and all being 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 of the Dallas Cowboys.
Jerry wants be the THE man. THE C E N T E R of attention...and he's petrified of NOT being the DEAD center of attention....often times at great embarrassment to the Dallas Cowboys.
HE wants to be THE spokesman for the team, which is perfectly understandable if it pertains to anything financial, after all, he is the GM and it his HIS team....
However, he needs to get "OFF the sidelines" so to speak. STOP his IMMEDIATE "post game" hallway press conferences.... same thing at training camp, etc etc etc.... which we ALL know is something he'll NEVER do.
So, Jerry WILL continue to be THE spokesman for the football team and NOT the HC.
He'll continue to be THE link to the locker room.
He'll continue to usurp the coaches, quite often times making both himself and the team look idiotic.
He'll continue to effectively neuter the HC... keep him in his place so to speak.
Everybody will continue to witness the same Ole BS... including, MOST importantly, the players... etc etc etc.
I TRULY do hope the unprecedented amount of sh#t he's currently catching from every direction will get him to alter his ways. That maybe he'll run the team more professionally and effectively with THE primary goal of winning another championship.....but I HIGHLY doubt it. It's 99.9% he'll just continue to stubbornly dig in his heels.
IMOP, if truth be known, Jerry sees himself as if he IS the Dallas Cowboys, rather than simply the caretaker of a storied franchise.
Man, just imagine where'd they'd be today if he hadn't hired Jimmy, gotten out of his way, and won 3 SB's as a result.... Wow....
So I'm preparing myself for the same Ole BS...year 28, 29 and counting....depending upon where a person wants to begin counting...
