I enjoy walking at the park early in the morning. As I listen attentively to the singing of the birds, my soul offers praise to God with thanks for a new day. The beauty of creation reminds me that I, too, am God’s precious creation, made to glorify my Creator.

Sometimes it is hard to smile when storms upend our lives. In those times we can choose to spend our days in gloom and anger for the things we cannot bear, or we can soothe our spirits by spending time basking in God’s creation. Those moments can then free us from the worries of today and fears of what tomorrow might bring.

In the face of uncertainty, surely our spirits will bloom again as we contemplate God’s beautiful creation. If God cares about the birds of the air and the flowers in the field, God will certainly remember us too. When our souls are weary and in need of rest, we can sense God’s presence through the works of God’s hand and find our strength renewed.

Today's Prayer
Dear God, thank you for reminding us through your creation how much you love us. Admiring what your hands have made helps us to feel your presence each and every day. Amen.
