I have been known to buy entire shopping carts of clearance fishing stuff when my Walmart puts on clearance.

One time everything was 25cents. Even spools of Seaguar red label, power pro braid, strike king square bills, plastics. Everything. I spent about $80 for an almost level grocery basket of fishing stuff.

Yeh….about half of it was for the wrong species, or just junk….but I still have spools of line from seven years ago. Haha.

I was digging through the cart and my wife says”come on…let’s go…just roll the whole cart over here you can sort it out at home!”

Makes it easy to break off rather than go in a booger a good spot trying to get a bait loose.

My local Walmart gets all kinds of stuff to dump at DEEP discounts. I’ve got piles of lures, line, even rods in my garage at obscenely low prices. Love when that happens!

Walmart must leave it up to the store manager what to close out. Mine had zilch.

You need about seven Walmarts in your rotation. With six or seven in your rotation, odds are you will find one or two that has an actual fisherman as their sporting goods department manager. These Walmarts will be stocked with the best variety of lures/tackle and will have the best clearances.

I’ll give you a hint that it’s usually Walmarts close to popular fishing lakes.

I caught my PB, 9.2, on a $1 spinner bait from Walmart.

The Christie Craw in black and blue is one of my favorite baits. Works great Texas Rigged, or as a trailer on a jig. I would have definitely bought more than 2 bags if they were marked down to a dollar a piece!

After my 9 AM dentist appointment this morning I hit the local Walmart and scored on some more stuff (I need it all I swear!). They had the 8 inch Berkeley cull shads on sale for four dollars a pop so I grabbed them all. Also got a soft satchel for $8 instead of $28 and a couple of Flambeaux zerust 3500 boxes for $2.50 apiece.
Makes going to the dentist a positively pleasant experience!
The cute hygienist who cleaned my teeth was an added bonus.

Caught a lot of bass on those too.

My 9.25 pb came off a silver with black back Ozark Trail lipless crankbait.

I've used those when I can't find any ultravibe speed craws in green pumpkin blue swirl.
