With all of the hype after the Mel Gibson/Joe Rogan video, I wondered how many here take methlyene blue. I am going to be 76 next month and the MB has given me a huge increase in mental clarity, alertness, energy and overall sense of well being. Before I started, I was feeling like I had symptoms of dementia and chronic fatigue syndrome. Now, I feel better than I have in 5 years. It works differently for everyone but I am quite okeased and have had no side effects other than the blue-green urine which takes a little getting used to

It’s a dye that has been around for more than 100 years. It actually was used to dye denim jeans but it also has medical uses for a couple of diseases as well as to inject in the blood when they want to create contrast for scans or ultrasounds. And yes, I used to out it in outdoor ponds for that blue water look. The version I am talking about is a 1% solution that you swallow. It works by helping red blood cells carry oxygen, fights inflammation, increases seratonin in the brain and helps with cellular health (at least this is what I found by my research). All I know is it has helped me but I was hesitant to talk much about it because most people still believe that the FDA, medical community and Big pharma know everything.

Big Pharma and the FDA know about it. I may ask my doc about it next appointment. If you haven't already, you should read up about possible reactions/side effects etc.

The intravenous form of methylene blue is approved by the FDA for the treatment of pediatric and adult patients with acquired methemoglobinemia. Historically, it has been widely used in Africa to treat malaria, but now it disappeared when chloroquine (CQ) and other drugs entered the market.

Yep, I was referring to the fact that the FDA will not approve anything without clinical trials and they make the trails so expensive that the only ones that can fund them are the big pharma companies who have interest in generic meds because they are in the business of getting new drugs approved so they can benefit from patent protection.

The side affects issue is mostly related to people who take 30, 50 or more mg a day for various reasons and have gut health and other problems. Most users keep it at 5 mg or less which is pretty safe

Just ask your doctor beforehand to see if your medical history allows you to use it.

Yes, many people have reported success using it for other things. Just be careful with what you put in your body.

How do you know that it is safe? Did you do a clinical trial?

Do you have to have a prescription for it?

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!
