This past Thursday My neighbor Mark Bovee and I had a good day catching on Lake Ray Hubbard. We caught 205 fish in 4 hours (6 or 7 were hybrids) the rest were sandbass. Caughta all of our fish in 30’ to 40’ feet of water, it was a beautiful day to be out! We were fishing three baits on one line. The hybrids were hitting the slab on the. Bottom and the other two baits were a 3” monkey milk and lime green plastic on the second hook and a 3” black and green on on top hook. Most of the magnums and bass weren hitting the second hook. Lots of females had eggs. Fish caught in 30’ and 40’ drifting and dead sticking. We would look for bait balls and turned on a thumper. It didn’t take but a few minutes for the fish to start moving in. All fish were released. [Linked Image]

Mark had the areas down where to go, once we found bait, he flipped on the thumper and here they came. The last two hours we were fishing 40’ of water and the fish were suspended right at 32 feet, LiveScope helped us to stay in the sweet spot. We left them biting, we wanted to be back in the slip before dark.

It was more like Mark got us in the right areas, he put us right where we needed to narrow it down. We used all the baits he built. The Monkey Milk plastics worked great. We had a small spinners on the end of the slabs, that’s what we caught the hybrids on.

The sandbass were huge outside Chandlers and down south. We were fishing during a major, fish were active towards the end or the trip. It was hard to leave and head in. At Redbarn all the sandbass we caught were small, so we didn’t spend much time there.

I need to get out there before I am out a couple months after this knee replacement. If only my best bud wasn't on medical leave too. LOL

Good Fishing To Ya,
Ruben
