Low weights for Rayburn and less than 150 entries in Champs today.

We had 3 for 9#’s, turns out that was a respectable weight today.

I feel sorry for those of you that fished it. The weather reminded me of the first day of the defunct Platinum Team Trail event years ago. It was 33 deg, spitting mist and sleet and blowing 22-30 out of the north. Never been so miserable in my life before or after that day.

That would have been nice! Running from Umphreys past the Black Forest sukked.

It was like all hell broke loose when you rounded the peninsula at Humphries. I rethought alot of things on that run.

We had a [censored] day. Also had 3 for about 9 at 10:00 AM. Moved across the sea to Veach at 10:00. Went to move a few minutes later and starter on my SHO made a grinding noise with no crank. Pulled cowel and shroud and could turn motor a little by hand. Starter bendix pops out and spins but just pushes off flywheel like it’s stripped. We sat there until 3:45 until guy out there that tows boats came to get us. Thanks to Jeff Welch for helping us getting that rescue going. We didn’t make it back to the dock until 6:15 or so. Long miserable day. Never fished after the issue. Spent the entire time talking to people trying to get rescued. Sucks having to fish so far from home where you don’t know anyone.
