Not really sure I had any idea what I was going to do until I did it.

It’s worked out pretty well for me. No regrets.

never knew.. but I did know there were 24 hours in a day... 8 for work, 8 for sleep, and 8 to play every day... except Saturday and Sunday when there was no work and 16 hours to play two days in a row. banana

I took metal shop in high school mainly because it took 3 periods every day an got me out of regular classes. Started working in machine shops my senior year. Then hired on with Dresser and spent 15 years there. They were bought out by Halliburton and 3 years in, they shut our plant down. We were offed the chance to go to school to learn another trade, I choose IT and have been at it since. I now work for one the 5 biggest banks in the country doing field support on local branches and setting up new ones.

From what I know of you, those kids are definitely better for having you as an influence in their lives. I can’t help but believe that you’ve made a real difference in some lives…and some futures out there Der! In some cases I’ll bet you’ve done it and won’t ever even know.

At my age, when I think about things that really matter, making a difference in a young person’s life is at the top of the list. I think that’s something to be pretty dang proud of!

i started off as a TX Alcoholic Beverage Commission auditor, making sure, as close as i could, the 14% hidden liquor tax was paid; then the comptroller office decided they wanted that tax money, millions of dollars, so they traded BINGO for liquor; they wouldn't take us, the TABC auditors, to the comptroller office and fired us all; so i became a bingo auditor at the TX Lottery Commissiion, by God's grace; the comptroller had NO auditing procedures in place, so in 1994 those few of the TABC auditors that transferred to the Lottery Commission, including me, started from scratch; it was fun; i retired in 2003, tired of those behind the desk in Austin thinking they knew what was going on in the field; i hear it's gotten worse now; God took care of me through that and a divorce, giving me GRACE with a new wife and a new job; thank You Lord.
