I was just curious what kind of real world mileage these things get? I have a 1999 F150 right now that gets 12+ city, and about 16 highway. I talked with someone that said their V10 got just as good or better. What are you guys getting?

I have 2, a 99 and an 08, both f 250 4x4 with manual transmission and manual hubs. The 08' has a trip computer so it is easy to keep up with performance. I am currently getting 13.9 mpg. I can get 15 at 70 mph on cruise with ac on when on the highway. Stop and go driving will drop it in the 12-13 range. The 08 has about 2300 miles on it, the 99 has about 123,000. The new rig gets a little better than the 99'.

So I guess if it was a 2 wheel drive, it might even go up a little.

I have a 2001 F250 SuperCab with a V10 and 5 speed manual with a 3.73 rear end, 2WD. I get almost 14 mpg in town. Plenty of power and will tow pretty much anything. Mileage difference between the 6.8L V10 and the 5.4L V8 is not that much different, but the V10 is way better when towing.

My '99 F250 with the V10 was checked out at ford company, Local,
and it was registered at 16 MPG on hiway/ 12 to 13 local, It all depends on rear end gears and your driving habits..(keep your foot out of it)...
