I'd figure Fort Worth would come in and swoop it all up if they break off. That area already gets Fort Worth services. Districts get to vote locally on these things. I don't think fort worth can swoop it up and ftw has enough issues themselves without making their problems bigger That area gets Fort Worth services now was my point. Fort Worth wants any and all tax base. They are picking up what was once considered county areas regularly. I think in some ways these smaller cities have outgrown their resources. I think several in that area will have tough decisions in the next 10 years or so as they become more landlocked and new growth is stagnantm I get that. But city limits and school districts are 2 separate things. The residents of that area would have to vote to move into fwisd and i highly doubt that would happen. If the residents have a say, then no it won't happen. The people in that area don't like being associated with Fort Worth.

I have heard some theories, I suspect they want to keep the stuff that touches SLC and dump the Alliance stuff. At least that's the way I heard it. For those unfamiliar with the area they want to split off area that is less affluent. Smaller houses, lots of apartments etc. There are a few very nice areas that would be split off but for the most part there appears to be a method to how they are wanting to draw the line. Won't that be bad for the football team? They are terrible now..... Ahh I see.

I say let them split, but the existing board and supt have to go to the less affluent district.
