2017 Tohatsu, has only ever seen salt water and shallow saltwater at that, 823 hrs and still runs great. I run it 100% rpm most the time, very little idling. It's a 50hp TLDI, never had one issue other than a bad primer bulb. I run non ethanol fuel and tohatsu synthetic 2 stroke oil and store the boat in my garage, paint still looks like the day I bought it except around the skeg. That's my review.

I put 6,000 hours of mud sucking abuse on mine. It was a great motor, right up until I needed to get parts for it. If you didn't know the Nissan was a rebadged Tohatsu.

Not sure about todays numbers but just a few years ago Tohatsu sold more outboards worldwide than any other manufacturer. I think currently it may be Yamaha.
