I don’t know anything about Ron’s business but you have opposing factions of the Sinaloa Cartel at war, right now.

Specifically in Culiacán and Badiraguato and surrounding areas.

we have fished picachos and el salto for several yeas with no problems...last march, one of the guides who spoke fluent english, told us that the Mexican cartel was well aware that any incident towards american fishermen would result in all of the staff and guides at ron speeds and anglers Inn losing their jobs and would not do anything to cause this....
this year we are going peacock bass fishing in Brazil at end of this month...hopefully they will get things back safe again at el salto by next year....

Dannie Golden who guides on Ray Roberts is catching great big bass right now on El Salto. He has a group of fisherman down there fishing with Pro Bass Adventures. Check out his facebook page for pics.

https://www.facebook.com/getbitdanniegolden This is their second trip, he was just down there in late October.

Woah, that is big news. I don't recall a previous time that Ron closed his El Salto camp for this reason.

I am now wondering about the Bacarrac lodge. Different lake and owner but I am curious if they have been affected.

Baccarac is open and all camps running customers. Our outfitter mentioned several calls from groups that got cancellation notices from El Salto. Baccarac and Picachos will be a tough ticket to get if El Salto is diverting traffic.

Just spoke to Ron Speeds office. He says they should be back open hopefully in February or March.

La Mayiza y Los Chapitos must’ve gotten tired of killing one another?

Spoke to Dannie Golden today and Pro Bass Adventures is staying open. He just got back and said the lodge was full with 26 fisherman while he was down there.
