Way back a gazzilion years ago..... when we'd get snowed in from school I'd build model cars / planes ..etc. I'd have at least 2 or 3 in the waiting. My room was filled with the models I'd built. So today I'm sitting at home twiddling my...um thumbs. Thought I'd look on Amazon to see what these things go for. OMG these dang things are outrageous .... they start a $25 and go up and up and up.... Big PASS. I'm not that bored.
I'll just day drink

Yeah, models these days are way over priced. I wanted to get into these and show my Grandson how to build them. At $25+ I'll look at other hobbies for he and I, then we'll move to those when he's older.

I loved building model cars when I was a kid. I wasn't good at painting them, but loved building them.

I rebuilt the SeaStar steering ram and flushed out all the old steering fluid. Primed and purged the air out.
Took several hours due to being cold and the roof top snow melting and dripping all over the place.
But….i took advantage of the shop being closed today. Now I’m showered and dressed and fixing to take my wife out to dinner.

I did actually clean up a closet I'd been saying I would for the last few weeks. Made me feel good to get it organized and got rid of some clothes that are way too big for me, too.

Learned that the hard way. Yeh. There is a huge difference between the $19 Amazon leakers and the Dometic $200 seals. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/01/full-93588-255512-img_2605.jpeg) These were the real deal made in Canada original equipment.
