I admit to being a little scared of two things for this trip.
#1.Since a ShareaLunker was already caught it will probably have a bunch of people going, and I will be there on a weekend as well, so the traffic should be high. However...
#2 The weather looks horrible! The good thing is, it may help with #1.
Gonna bundle up and get after them regardless! Thanks for the tips and wishes of luck. I expect to start out focusing on deep water ledges. When I was looking at the map I figured the mouth of Elm Creek would be the spot. Unfortunately, every video I have watched about this lake has people fishing Elm Creek! I like to do something different from everyone else, so maybe I can find something on some smaller coves or creeks. Basically if you follow the river channel, you will probably find me. I fish Lake Travis more than anywhere else, and I think that deep water fishing experience will help. Still going to bring the jerkbaits and soft plastic swim baits of course. If my plans don't work, and let's be honest, when do our plans ever work, I will try what everyone else does out there. :-) I have never felt crowded on O.H. Ivie regardless of what time of the year I was on the lake. You literally have a chance at a 10 lber anywhere on that lake.

Game wardens were at the ramps doing surveys. Said there was only 9 boats on the water between Elm and Concho ramps. Only 3 club members fished today. Total of 5 fish weighed in for a combined weight of just over 7lbs. I took 3rd

Them guys in the dark blue trucks that interview are biologist. They been interviewing pretty regular, I talked to one day.
They did a shock survey back in November. I talked to one after that he said that the survey gets a pretty good account of what is there. The big and little ones seem to get away 8# was as big as he saw.
