Any information / recommendations for amateur bass fishermen coming down from Wisconsin to fish Bois d'Arc in late March? Why is the north ramp closed, and will it open by late March?

I would plan on fishing other lakes in the area if you are making the trip. It's nice lake but all the hype from last year was because it was new, and fish were easy to catch in all the new flooded green bushes. It's not necessarily the case now.
Not sure if there are any updated map cards out. I haven't updated mine, so I don't have it. You may not have much to go by beside visuals. March should be easier with fish moving shallow for the spawn.

North ramp is closed because it was built very shallow. All the ramps are more shallow than one would like.

The North ramp is closed because the lake is already low. Fishing has been tough. Good luck.

All the way from Wisconsin? Specifically for this lake? Or just to Texas in general?

I fished it 3 times last year. 2 were good, the last time in July was terrible. Any other lake would have been better except Texoma.

Small lake loaded with little fish. You will have no problem finding fish in March. It reminds me a lot like a power plant lake.... great numbers.
