Google says to heat the weight or cut a slit in the bait with a scissors after stretching it to make it softer. Clutz here. Don't want to poke or burn my finger if there is a simpler way. Anyone got a better way?.

I've seen a video where they used a needle like device that inserts rattles to make a hole then they add the weight. ZMan Rattle Tool

This is assuming that ZMan has a bait that is worth using….

Awesome! I looked at a few Utubes on it and it can be used for rattles and line thru swimbaits too. Thx!

Elaztech baits really struggle with nail Weights. That’s why these were developed.

I use half moon tail weights that I pour myself. I sharpened the end of a #1 size Phillips screwdriver and a #2 Phillips screwdriver. I poke a hole in the end of the ElaZech first with the smaller screwdriver, then the larger one. Then, some super glue on the tail weight and it inserts fairly easily and holds perfectly. A 1/16 oz half moon tail weight on a tiny child rig is a killer bait.
