On a 1 to 5 scale with 5 being the best, how would you rate your 2024 fishing year?

I would say 2024 was outstanding. I fished a lot of new water and got great results throughout the year. I also found some very good future fishing spots. I had very good results targeting different spices of fish and even picked up a few waterbody records along the way. I also caught several bass in the 21" range, not to mention a few Rios and Redbreast in the 10 to 11 inch range. Looking forward to a GREAT 2025!

Very avg. Started out with high expectations, but several factors kept it from being great. The last couple of years have seemed abnormally windy March-May which has caused lots of lost time and canceled trips.

Below average ...and my average pretty much a dumpster fire

For me, I would say good. Not outstanding mainly because of missed time & rehab from shoulder surgery. 2023 was outstanding and I have high expectations for 2025.

Between remodeling, travel, and other distractions, 2024 was way below average for fishing. That being said, in 2024 I documented 4 world records, 2 state records, a few waterbody records and big fish awards. But it was the first year in several years I will not show up on the IGFA annual report of top anglers. I hope to do a lot more fishing in 2025.

I said good because I caught fish on structure I never knew existed in the 3 waters I've fished for over 20 yrs. The other outstanding discovery found by accident was catching fish on a grub body minus the curl tail. That got me thinking: why not cut off the belly and tail of a Sassy Shad. Sure enough, fish slammed it! no-tail grub examplesI keep photo records of fish caught on what date and a shot of the counter that shows total caught. If I went back to the 2024 fish folder, I'd bet I caught over 450 last year that included panfish, bass and pickerel on small soft plastics rigged on round head jigs. The only thing that limited fishing were the high winds from late Oct. on. One other thing that surprised me is trolling a crankbait after a bud caught fish on one in my boat. I tried it and caught a few very large crappie! Got to crank and troll more crankbaits this year seeing as how I have over 300 in storage collecting dust - some still unopened.
