I don’t think I’d feed any fish to my family out of that tank if you dump roundup in it, yikes. Who said "dump' the Roundup in the water? You spray it on the leaves. I guess it’s all PPM, and a surfactant may help with cutting the surface tension for proper application, but at the end of the day, Lilly pads are quite hydrophobic. Even if you spot spray each pad, rest assured some of it is ending up in the waterway. If the water is big and movin, maybe not a big deal. Small and “stagnant”, might not be so good.

Only if you use too much.
Used in moderation, it kills pads just fine and does not kill fish.

Just to be sure, the regular round up (sold at Home Depot) kills fish...... ‘’Roundup’’ used to be the common name for glyphosate. Round up the brand makes all sorts of product, I’m not saying the aquatic version which looks to have a very high amount of glyphosate will kill fish, but it’s known to kill us with cancer if used wrong. It’s very common now in at, but with very very accurate spray rigs that apply it in just the right places between rows of mostly corn and soybean. Now round up ready kbg and st aug is probably pretty cool, bravo Scott’s

Many years ago a friend invited me out to her ranch and showed me her 1/4 acre pond, which was choked out with hyacinth and coontail. The pond was about 90' wide. We stretched a long steel cable and some chain across it between two tractors and dragged it several times. We got most of the stuff out. The pond was muddy for a few days, but by the time the stuff started getting thick again cold weather was knocking it back. She did that annually after that.

They use some roundup type herbicides on hydrilla. They don’t really care if it hurts the lake as long as it kills the ad bad hydrilla monster.
Retirement best job ever.

We used Roundup for over 40 years to kill lilly pads and it worked fine, no one died from eating the fish.
You only spray a small percentage of the pads, then go back the next week and kill some more and repeat till they are gone.

A combo of grass carp and Tilapia is highly effective on lily pads. Absolutely no way I would use carcinogenic roundup or any chemicals in our ponds.
Tilapia have the added bonus of feeding your bass. We've used that combo for several years of algae free, weed free sparkling ponds without ever using chemicals...and the fishing ain't bad either see my New Years day bass in pond section.

For triploid carp you have to get a permit from the state buy them.
Tilapia, cold water kills then, thus you have to restock each year which is expensive. Will be a bunch of dead tilapia by next weekend.
How much Roundup would you have to use in a ten (1) acre pond to kill the fish assuming you had a 2 acre infestation of lillies and the pond has an average depth of 15 feet.? What is the ppm level of Roundup to kill fish? Roundup ratio is 1 OZ to the gallon.
In one acre, there is 27,000 gallons one 1inch deep.

For triploid carp you have to get a permit from the state buy them. Big deal. I have grass carp in ponds from ONE permit issued two decades ago. One permit is not going to break anyone. If you have bass in the pond with Tilapia you will likely never ever see "a bunch of dead Tilapia" The bass will eat every last one. As to cost, the cost of chemicals far far exceeds the cost of natural Tilapia in monetary terms and especially in health terms. I have years in which Tilapia overwintered but most years they all become Bass food. So many so called "sportsmen" just go for the chemical solution every time without any regard for the environment, the health of the creatures living in it, or the well being of the people now living and those yet to be.. That attitude is why we are in the shape we are in today.
