Does anyone on here have one? and what do you like and dislike about it?

Can't decide if I want to get another Explorer or go with the Toyota

We dont have that highlander but my 2 cents-
We were a Toyota family for many years and were quite pleased with how little problems we had with them compared to previous years-
Then the wife wanted a Taho so we found a reasonable deal and paid $60+ on it-
9 years later we still have it but it has given us more issues than 3 previous Toyotas and after the first time in the shop I was regretting not going with a Toyota again-

We are looking at new handicap vans right now and are only considering Toyota ot Honda-

In my current situation, being able to depend on my vehicle is huge-

The so called “American” made vehicles have not given me reason to not worry about being stranded somewhere-

We had a regular Highlander for a several years and it was easily the best car we have had. We decided to trade it in for a Grand Highlander, but at the time you could not get one. We waited over 6 months and finally gave up. Of course we wanted a specific trim level and color, but we couldn’t really get a dealer to help us. That being said, a Grand Highlander will be our next car if the supply has improved.

Bought a new Highlander hybrid 2 years ago- and like all the Toyotas we’ve had - it’s been excellent. The explorer will be flashier, but the two vehicles aren’t even in the same class for quality or resale value.

We've had a 2012 Highlander Limited since new. Never put a wrench on it other than tires and a couple of batteries.
The 3.5ltr V-6 they used to put in them is dang near bulletproof!
I would buy another one with the V-6 in a heartbeat....NO 4-banger turbo will ever grace our garage.

My daughter bought a slightly used 2021 (21/k miles) Highlander Limited (not the Grand Highlander) about a year ago and it has been trouble free.

I'm trying to talk my wife into getting a Highlander or maybe a Rav4 for her next vehicle. Her 2016 GMC Acadia with 160/K is starting to show it's age. She wants another GM vehicle with On-Star as it has saved her bacon a few times over the years. A Toyota dealer told me that all manufactures have their version of On-Star now as it has been mandated by the government. I have not looked into that to see if it is true or not. I hope it is as GM makes a lot of trouble prone vehicles now.

test drove a brand new 2021 Highlander at the dealer , made a left turn --the tranny decides to upshift twice very quickly and then the cars starts jumping around like it was trying to find another gear -- I pull off the throttle and the car accelerates by itself . good friend bought the same one and her tranny went out after 20k miles --- this was all the new model

My relatively recent experience with Toyota vehicles (2005 Camry and a 2018 Avalon) reflects zero problems. And I rented a Highlander for a road trip about 15 years ago and got caught in the worst hail storm I ever experienced - not a single dent in the Highlander. For my money, Toyota makes the most dependable vehicles you can buy.

It really breaks down to dependability or flashy trim packages.

Have a friend that bought a Lexus but eventually traded it in on a Cadillac, wife’s car.

She said that is what her friends were driving and the Lexus was too plain.

My wife has a 21 Highlander and the transmission started whining. Lucky it was still under warranty. After a little digging, they have transmission problems from 2020 to 2023! Other than that, I would buy another one! I love that suv!

Wife came home with a Rav 4 today.

It looks really nice.

Don’t really know anything about it.

We have the 2022 Rav 4 Hybrid that my wife loves. Put close to 90K miles on it since I got it 2 years ago. The backup warning system takes some getting used to. Sounds like a helicopter blades powering up. Only does in in reverse so people know the car is running. Ours is fully loaded, but I can't get the front seat adjusted to my liking. But its a personal thing. Wife loves it. Great mpg. Average 38.5 in eco mode driving 70 to 80

Ford. Always. Is this a vehicle that will be used for any kind of off-road or just street driving?
