Boat Ranger Z518
Bow: Carbon 12
Console: Carbon 12
Ultrex US2
AI 3N1

Upgraded over the weekend to AI 3N1 over the TotalScan transducer. I used to get high speed depth while running, now I'm not seeing it all.

Here's what I did in the settings:
1) Sonar: Set to HIGH SPEED CHIRP as original was 200hz
2) Settings:Channel 1 & 2 on
3) Settings: Named my graphs so I know which one to select; I'm selecting the 3n1
4) Transducer: Located 3n1 in the same place as the TotalScan
5) Testing: Everything appeared good this morning when idling around
6) Console graph: Network port connected, ethernet connected, 3n1 connected, power connected
7) Bow graph: Similar to above, but sonar is connected to Ultrex

What did I miss?
Is the High Speed Chirp throwing things off?
Is there a video with the proper way to set these all up?
I thought my Ranger had a shoot through transducer, did I screw things up when installing the 3n1?

Sorry for all the questions.

Can you post 2 pics one of the Pages/Setting/Sonar, page, then open installation and screenshot that page. Hold down the pages button and power button till it screenshots it will say on the bottom of the screen it gets saved in my documents under files or storage. Make sure you have the latest updates on your carbons the Totalscan is 10 to15 yrs old without the latest update it will not work for the 3-1if these settings are correct then it has to be how its mounted is why it does not work to read the bottom. First things first.

Update: Got it figured out! Did run into one issue, well not really an issue. When running above 53 MPH I lose depth, but that's because I'm running full out and may be losing the bottom of the boat where the 2D is located. AHAHAHHAHA

Solution:
1) In Settings, Sonar, Installation:
a) Select PDT-XXX transducer and not "Unknown"
b) Select Channel 1 which is the blue connector / transducer
c) Select 200 hz and not High Chirp

After all of this, I can see my depth again. WOOOO!

This is why you need a shoot thru hull PD-WBL transducer. I run 70mph and do not lose the bottom with this transducer shoot though hull and run it on high chirp. Ch 1 Try trim down slightly and it may start reading the bottom again. Most transducers are mounted in the sump area as close to the transom as possible as that part of any boat does not get air under it as that is what causes the loss of sonar signal.
