I haven’t tried the true Nashville hot style, but when I have fried chicken I cover it with franks or cholula

I've been to Big Chicken, Nashville Hot Chicken, and Chicken in a Barrel. Nashville Hot Chicken was probably favorite. How hot do you get?

Love hot / spicy chicken, but there's a level of too much spice that coats your taste buds and ruins the flavor.

Never been a big fan of really hot spicy food....but...the Korean fried chicken place here in Edmond does a spicy chicken I really like. I'll grab it for lunch if I happen to be in the area.

I had it in Nashville at some place famous for it. It was unpleasantly hot. Haven’t really tried it since. I like fried chicken and I like spice, but sometimes it seems like a competition about who can make it the hottest. Food doesn't get too hot for me. Well, maybe once or twice. I guess we don't have any of the hot chicken places near me.

Any of you guys enjoy the Hot Chicken places that have popped up? There have been a ton of places open up over the last few years. I haven't tried any of them yet.
Ya'll got any favorite places over the others?
Anybody brave enough to try whatever the highest spice level is? Was it any good? Give Ricky's Hot Chicken a try in Arlington off of Cooper. Good stuff, just get the hot chicken sandwich. They have heat level 1-5. I love hot food. I ordered a 4 the 1st time. Guy at the Counter: thats ghost pepper hot Me: They always say that Me 30 min later: (crying in my sandwich) who the hell orders a 5?

There are at least one of these "hot chicken" places around me with another one coming. Don't know anything about them.

I'd give it a try. I can usually handle hot foods, but I don't enjoy it if it's just heat and not taste. There's a difference and I'm not into pain without reason.
