Has anyone here dealt with stellantis (Fiat Chrysler) buy back team? I’m in the process of negotiating with a repurchase coordinator and I am unsure how to deal with these people? It seems they are wanting to give me a compensation package vs buying my brand new truck back since I’ve had major problems since new. Anyone with any insight or advice in this process would be greatly appreciated.

Are you going to buy another Chrysler after this?

I don’t buy Dodge or Chrysler products because they suck, so I’ve got nothing. If it were me, I’d accept nothing less than the exact price I paid for the vehicle. Good luck!!

I hate that we have a Dodge van. But they have pretty much cornered the market on wheelchair vans. Then the mark up is insane. We paid 32k for a 2016 with 100k miles. Two years ago. We shopped around too.

With Jeep, Dodge, Ram, and Chrysler, Stellantis dominates most top ten list out there for poor reliability and rapid depreciation.

They are actually offering me what they call cash and keep, which means they offer me a small compensation for my troubles while I keep my truck. They were actually pretty good with reembursing me for towing and rental expenses. From what I have read, taking the compensation could forfeit me from any future claims for future problems. It’s very confusing how they have it worded. Unfortunately all the manufacturers have their share of problems. My last truck had engine failure and complete fuel system failure at 82000 miles which led me to buying this truck. The ram just happened to be the most affordable at the time.

Who knows if I would consider another ram truck. So far they have taken better care of me than ford when my Powerstroke failed.

I read they got rid of the guy that was running Stellantis. So there's hope Dodge can bounce back from the monstrosity it is today.

Do you think the CEO of a global company really had anything to do with a long history of sub par vehicles that where there long before he was?

On my 4th Dodge/Ram product in less than 20 yrs. Had a sensor issue on my latest about a month or so after purchase that got resolved quick. That's been it.

Nowadays, they want to sell you an EV. With everyone that wanted one, buying one already. Dodge is late to the party. The debacle of the last call challengers. Electrical bugs in both the software and the hard wires. Folks have reported missing seam sealer that's actually the glue used to build it.

When Daimler owned the company, they were a solid vehicle. Today's examples are....junky. More then usual.

And people collect the old ones like they're gold. Back then they were extra junky. Low quality vehicle. I don't get their enthusiasm.

They're like an insurance company - trying to negotiate the cheapest settlement option for themselves. I'd just tell them no on any compensation that doesn't include a complete buyback, assuming that's what you want.

Does it qualify for Lemon Law, or is it close to qualifying? If so, does the coordinator know that you know about the Lemon Law? Just a mention like, "Well one more transmission issue and I'll just Lemon Law it." might get you to what you want much quicker.

I have a very good friend --- he's been in the car repair business for 40 years . Highly respected in the biz . He swears by RAM trucks . When I was in the market ---one year ago . He advised only one of two options . RAM or Toyota . GM has had too many issues with transmissions and Ford has same problems on the new versions with an additional issue on the crankshafts for the super charged motors ( F150 's ) . The Tundra scared me with the waste gate issue and my current Tundra has had a lot of suspension and braking issues .
The RAM V8 and tranny have been around for a long time . It's the E Torque that's new .
