If I just said no when the fast-food lady tells me to pull forward into a parking spot and someone will bring me my food?

They've eliminated the feedback loop in their favor. I want to check my order and ask for the sauce they forgot or send it back when they get my order wrong without having to get out of my car and go inside and then wait in ANOTHER line.

Getting old sucks; everything pisses me off now. Why is that?

Just ask the person bringing your food to you to wait while you check. Easy solution.

I did this the other day.
First, I do use the mobile app. So, there is zero excuse to not have it prepped by time I get there.
Teenager at the window asked me to pull up (they have another drive-thru window just for this purpose which tells me that they are planning to fail). I told her No. I'll just wait here.
She looked at me like I had 3 heads.
I asked why. She said the person behind me was a door dash. I told her I didn't care and I ordered on the mobile app..what's the difference?
Again, I get the look. I just stare back. My wife is punching me in the arm from the passenger seat. I reluctantly pull forward...actually, had to go to a parking place.
Meanwhile, doordash behind me ended up in a parking space also. And when they brought out his order, he had to go in for something.

I thought it was fun.
My wife? Not so much.

I don't do drive through

Furs cafeteria my be more to your liking. You can watch them put your food on the try and talk to them while they do it. You can tell them what you like and don't like, and why. You can even pick out your own jello at the end of the line.
