Do you just fish all year whenever time allows, or do you have a yearly "season" where you have an opening day and an official end of your year?
For example, I am basically March 1 - November 1 each year. It has the benefit of prepping for it each winter and being able to compare each season against each other.

I'm the same. March to when the weather gets chilly. Favorite time is early morning. A couple hours before sunrise. Leaving around 10-11am.

I haven't fished winter since I don't know when. I'm more into hunting this time of year.

What is this “winter” you speak of?

Definitely for me. When dove season starts through deer season, I am in the blind 90% of the time vs. fishing.

I fish year round, I couldn't live in an area where I couldn't drop in my boat at least 2-3 weeks a month.

PS: Even though I have, I picked up ice fishing. AAHHAHAHA

I fish all year. I have caught some of my biggest fish in the winter when the crowds are gone. However, October and June are some of my favorite months.

I fish year around. I do have certain times of the year when certain species of fish I target bite the best and I will concentrate on them. For the most part is just yearly from 01-01-24 to 01-01-25. thumb

All year. As much as I love the salt water, I miss the annual white bass run. Hitting the creeks with the 2 weight and the half weight and catching a bunch of fat females is an absolute hoot. When I was up in New Caney and focused more on fresh water I really enjoyed winter bass fishing; that’s when I caught the most 8+ pound bass of the year. Even up in Galveston, Matagorda, St. Charles, and Aransas bays, fishing was good in the winter. Down here it’s even better.
