Not buying the junk Yamamoto are currently producing anymore, whats the best senko alternative? I've used yum dingers but rate of fall is slower, I still have a bunch of old tiki sticks and like those but not sure those are still produced or the same.

It’s still hard to beat the Senko. Even when it isn’t as good as it used to be.

Haven’t noticed much difference between the old and new ones. Some colors may be a bit off but mostly much ado about nothing

They are made different now?

What problems are you having with Yamamoto? The colors are not the same and even the finish is not the same texture. Its obvious they changed the plastic formula and amount of silica included, they don't seem have the same action on fall.

Wave Bamboo and Tiki sticks
Is there a retailer that still offers these or only online sales available? Sure wish Academy still had a SKU with tiki sticks.

The weight is different too. ….but if you ask the new owners, they’ll swear it’s the same. It isn’t. Some of the new stuff is being made in Grand Prairie. Not 100% if the Senkos are, or not. I have bought a pack in the new blue/black/white package that clearly said “Made in Grand Prairie, Texas” on the bag…..then the bags I’ve bought since say “Made in USA”. They are definitely playing with the recipe and marketing of one of the most iconic baits ever made. Hope they don’t shoot themselves in the foot.

The silica sand adds weight, that ingredient is why senkos cost more that other stick worms, other brands like zoom just use salt.

Most people wouldn't neccesarily think of them as Senkos but I use the Lake Fork Lures Ring Fry in the same situations like Wacky rig, Texas Rig, Weightless rig and Carolina rig.
