I had a friend that had rented his rental out and the tenants wouldny pay rent or leave. Police wouldn’t let him enter his own rental. So he cut off the utilities and waited for eight months for the law to get them out. The renters had crapped the stools completely over and the drug residue was everywhere and dirty needles also. Wanted me to help him clean it up I said no way. No plumber would touch it he had to clean up the stools himself. I wouldn’t have a rental.

We have laws to prevent abuse. Laws that were created to address the situation.
So far, I've read that violence is called for. Using a dog to attack them.
You're dealing with a fellow human being. So like it or not. You can't do what you want to. Big difference between someone overstaying their lease and someone breaking in don’t ya think? In Texas? How? Have you read our squatter law? I agree. it's a frustrating situation. I'm just appalled at some of the reactions. Hence, why we have the law to begin with. Do you want to feel free, putting hands on someone else over some shack? Let loose your dog? No Sir, you're not doing that in Texas. Take the steps and act civilised. Here’s an idea, don’t make anyone evict you. Pay your bills, if you can’t… move. Leave the place in better shape than you found it. That’s the Texas way.

I’ll be damned if I’m waiting for anyone else to remove someone from my own home. This was a rental property. If you force removal of squatters in the red state of Texas, you will quickly learn about the law as it pertains to rental property. Yes, Sir. Landlords can't act a fool. I've witnessed evictions. From people bailing on the lease to a Constable standby. If some fool thinks he's gonna lay hands on someone or feels he can start throwing property out the door without going through the steps. Jail awaits the Ahole. If you’re at my house/property uninvited, or in any way that I have not authorized, and you refuse to leave, you’re going to catch these hands. Let’s just go ahead and add legal expert and evictions expert to your list.

No cake, but I know a slum lord in Texas who learned the hard way about not going to court to get rid of a squatter. Not a mistake you make twice in Texas. Another mistake he made once and regretted, telling a lawyer "f u, sue me"

Call your state senator, congress rep and the governor. Only they can change the law.

Rental property
My parents had 25 rent houses at their peak. They are down to 9 now. In their mid 80’s so they should have none. They can tell you a lot of stories over the years.
What you should be able to do and legally can are two different things. To evict anyone there is a a legal process to follow. Every dead beat renter knows the process and that it’s more favorable to the renter or squatter than landlord. You can get them out it just takes time. They know that and will run it to the bitter end. Regardless they will tear the hades out of it, leave it incredibly nasty and steal anything on the way out. Not much you can do about that. You can’t get blood from a turnip as they say. It’s amazing the filth some will live in. I was in one of their houses over the weekend that the renter left after not paying the rent several months. The carpet was pretty undistinguishable from just a mud floor. Trash and junk everywhere. This was after my parents filled 3 dumpsters from the house. I told my wife if she went it there she would need to take a half dozen showers after.
What rental property will do is help you realize how horrible many people are.
It’s easier in Montgomery a county than Harris County to evict. Still you have to go through the legal process.

I’ll be damned if I’m waiting for anyone else to remove someone from my own home. Nice thought But you go outside of the legally allowed procedures and that person you’re removing will sue you and take the house. in Texas, with the castle law, just shoot em dead
Trust your own instinct. Your mistakes might as well be your own, instead of someone elses.
