If you have not been there since it reopened after being damaged by a storm, this will serve as a heads up. Last week my wife and I made the trek to the Grapevine in the metro mess. Stopped at Total Wine, had lunch at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen, went to Costco and then Sams Club. Costco was packed but Sams Club was not crowded at all. When we got ready to check out at Sams, we realized there were NO check out lanes. They do not exist in that store. After the rebuild, Sams decided to make the store self checkout. You need to download the app on your smart phone, scan each item and pay using your phone. At least that what metal face piercing lady told us. Guess what? We don't have the app. She said download it. My wife could not remember her Sams password. She said they will email it to your smart phone. My wife said that she doesn't get email on her phone. Basically at that point my wife was reaching her boiling point and was ready to walk out when the lady said she can check us out. WTF! This lady said Sams Club is thinking about doing this to all of their stores. That will not work. In the Tyler store we cannot get cell service with AT&T. hmmm

My wife uses this option and it’s flawless. I’m more old school.

They will without a shadow of a doubt know exactly what you purchase.

We just recently joined the Sams in Tyler. My wife wanted it, I dont really see the need for 55 gallon drums of mustard and ketschup. We bought a few small items. Figured we would try it for a year, but since it is a 30 minute drive for us and the place is always packed to the limit, it may be a waste of $80.

They already do.... It is tied to the membership card. Same with Costco. And any store that does points, etc with your phone number.

I use Scan & Go at Sams most of the time. Avoid the line and you can order their $10 4 meat pizza and pick it up on your way out.

Only reason I have it is for fuel availability/discount. Shop there maybe 3 times a year for paper products.

My Sam’s membership was just $50

She had to enter the password to set up the Sams app on her phone after she downloaded it in the store.
