Is there any place to fish in Hideaway near Lindale? Maybe there's some lakes or ponds with public access?

Mudshark is your ticket into Hideaway. Private gated
Lake Holbrook not far and has a point you walk around and fish if you don't have a boat.
enjoy

It’s a gated community and they require you to even BE with a member while fishing as a guest. My parents have lived out there since 96

There is no public access for fishing in Hideaway. It’s a gated community with security check in. The lakes are for members use and all boats must have a HAWL sticker. Guests may be called in to fish with members, but no outside boats may be launched on the lake.

This is a sore subject for me. Collindave will relate, as our fathers are both golfing buddies in Hideaway.
My dad doesn’t own a boat, nor does my brother-in-law who is a resident. I can’t bring my boat into Hideaway and take them with me. They have to be the owner of the boat. The story I hear is the gatekeepers of the Hideaway fishing use the “we don’t want them bringing things in from other lakes” excuse. I do find it funny that Hideaway residents can take their boats to other lakes and bring stuff back to contaminate Hideaway.
I’m sure many will say they can make any rule they want. It is total BS I can’t come in and take my own father fishing.

they have their rules so that they dont have others bringing boats that dont belong to others because if they did it would be like a public lake with folks on it that didnt pay the big bucks to be there.

Lake Kiowa is similar, and if you take your boat out from their property you have a two-week quarantine before they will allow it back on the lake.
