I think I read somewhere that the obstruction was known prior to the derailment and not alerted to the locomotive crew. If this has already been posted, just disregard. https://youtu.be/0ydZ5A3EF_o

We've got three divisions of people and equipment onsite now cleaning it up. A wind turbine was stuck on the tracks, train nailed it wide open. 1 fatality.
Ugly.

Been across them tracks there many times, Prayers for all involved. The train used to stop there and train employees walked to convivence store a few blocks away, Kept a lot of folks waiting.

I wonder if one of these signs was posted at the intersection. I'm 99 percent sure it is/was. Thats the number for the intersection number and straight to railroad dispatch bypassing local 911 if anybody didn't know. Its at all RR intersections.
