I think I read somewhere that the obstruction was known prior to the derailment and not alerted to the locomotive crew.

We've got three divisions of people and equipment onsite now cleaning it up. A wind turbine was stuck on the tracks, train nailed it wide open. 1 fatality.

Ugly.

Been across them tracks there many times, Prayers for all involved. angel

The train used to stop there and train employees walked to convivence store a few blocks away, Kept a lot of folks waiting.

I'm 99 percent sure it is/was. Thats the number for the intersection number and straight to railroad dispatch bypassing local 911 if anybody didn't know. Its at all RR intersections. I did a safety meeting on that when that parade float got hit in Midland that killed them Veterans a few yrs ago.
