There are so many great stories about Bird. I would have loved to have seen him play

If the current NBA players could time travel to the late 80s-early 90s, they would be probably be better than Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley, but for some reason, the old guy were more fun to watch.

I was living in Boston in the Bird era. It was fun watching those guys. Rivalries with LA, Philly, and Detroit. The games were intense.

Took him fishing twice to Choke when he came to play in S.A. He could handle a fishing rod for sure.

Good stuff, back when they actually played defense, battled for rebounds, banged around in the paint. Teams actually stayed together instead of the junk that goes on now. Those championship series in the 80s were great.

I don’t agree with this. I think if they had to go inside against some of those team say like the bad boy Pistons they would not have the points they put up today. Doubt Curry is half the player back then under their rules as today. Or cry baby LeBron

I dont know, when Bill Lambeir cracked one of the current players with an elbow they may have had to take half the season off.....

In every sport the athletes get better as time goes on.
One big difference in most sports is the large salaries. Back then they played more and harder. Today they try to extend their careers.

I remember watching a documentary on Bird and Johnson, their rivalry and how they went from hating each other to becoming good friends. Some of the video showing the rivalry between the two teams were vicious.

Larry grew up not far from one of the "better" lakes in Indiana so he probably had a lot of practice... Going to the lake you passed his Mom's house... A full basketball court in the front yard... Dan
