I don't know of any schools WITHOUT metal detectors but a quick search show several Texas ISDs with metal detectors including Sherman ISD among others.

AHS, MHS, I think all the Arlington HS have them

if your going to add metal detectors, your going to have to add fencing. School will need to be control much more like a detention facility to be effective. That would be a major expense and probably not possible for poor districts.

They can have metal detectors, guards at every exit, etc. If someone wants to go full on evil, they will find a way.

Christian schools vetting process for who they allow to attend varies greatly. A lot of schools need money so they’ll take anyone, others have a strict interview process with families and students to weed out certain folks before they become a problem. No metal detectors at our school but we also don’t have kids or families that are confused about gender.
