iv been on the lake and in the slips and in 4 months only caught 4 crappie? never seen it like this. .think the high water we had might have affected them? or turnover?

Take a look at the Whites - Hybrids - Striper section and look for the post Grapevine 2024. Some of the guys over there have been doing real well on the crappie over the last month. Take a look at the last few pages in the post.

It's been the worst year overall I can ever remember on grapevine. I think the flood this year really hurt things. Lots of small fish in the lake and so it should get back right next year if it doesn't flood again.

Now that I think of it, I never caught a single crappie up in Denton Creek this spring either. Not sure why

I will first say that I'm not a Crappie guy at all and I have learned what I do know by watching Kids videos and others. The VINE is my home lake and the Bass fishing has been tuff so I defer to hunting brush piles when i cant boat a bass. I generally catch enough to make a good sandwich but this last Sunday we hammered on a large group of keepers by the Hotel piles, think we have 12 keepers. They wouldn't bite anything other than a clear silver flake body/chartreuse tail jig! we went through a few colors before we found the juice. I'm not one to blur images so don't [censored] the bed lol Most know about the piles by hotel!

The sunken dock on the south side of the lake has just had tiny's on it and a lot of the piles also have shorts but when you find a good pile it lights up!

We also released all we caught Sunday.

Also caught a Magnolia Crappie off that pile and thought it was cool but didn't take a pic! didn't realize that was a rare catch!
