I went to college for a few minutes in Tishomingo. Pretty country side and I could make that work.

one town to avoid is Hulbert. Most crooked cops and a well known speed trap. They pulled over our church bus.

Can't believe they put a photo of the Hotel Juliana in the vid. That was the local brothel.

Look! Up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's an EMP!

Back in the day the old Harden’s was a real good burger joint off 15th and Sheridan- it moved and never was the same.

You sure are bringing back some old memories. That second curve leaving Hulbert heading east on 51 sure has seen lots of bad wrecks over the years. The last time I went though Hulbert was heading to the Methodist Camp Ground near Toppers on Fort Gibson Lake for a family reunion.

I was at camp Gruber for a while and our day off was in Muskogee and I found the whole experience challenging. No wonder it was a POW camp. However, as a visiting tourist I find the area east of 69 kind of nice from Ft. Gibson Lake to the Tenkiller area. I can see why folks retire there. Taleguah has a worth visiting Cherokee museum and be sure ti visit the old jail. The towns along old Hwy 66 like Sepulpa are fixing up the old downtown areas nicely.

I don’t know how long ago that was, but Muskogee is worse than Tulsa or OKC. It’s a dump and not Merle’s muskogee anymore. Okmulgee is another one to drive right on by.
Pryor is a nice decent sized town, and fairly centered between the best bass lakes in Oklahoma.

I was born at Altus Army/Air Corps Base in 1942. Dad was an Army First Sergeant, met my Mom, they got married, spent a short time together, enough to conceive me, and he left on a long tour of Europe and Africa chasing Germans. He said the chasing was ok but catching them was something else. We first saw each other when I was 18 months old.

Wife and I often leave our rural property outside of Bowie and drive around in Oklahoma. Found a lot of neat places. One of of our favorites is a large
prairie dog town. Hadn’t seen one since I left Muleshoe in the late 1950’s. I actually saw an eagle swoop down and catch one.

Biggest problem with Oklahoma is the Indian casinos. My wife enjoys going there. I don’t like to gamble when someone else sets the odds. Money isn’t a problem but I don’t like sucker deals.

Back in the 70's and 80's I played a lot of Fastpitch Softball Tournaments all over Oklahoma in towns like Antlers, Little Axe, Duncan, Durant and Ada.
Some were in really good ball parks like in Norman and Oklahoma City but there were some fun times at the small towns even if you had to play in a field with a chain link backstop and most of those tournaments went on no matter tjhe weather.

A friend of mines family originated from Bartlesville. She tells of a small town or village of little people close to that town. True or she pulling my leg?
