Went down to the jetties this morning and caught trout until we left at 10am. We caught trout on the inside and outside. We were lucky,most of the spainish were about a mile west of the jetties. There was close to 10 acres of spainish and pelicans busting on the surface until 9. We did see afew large reds that were caught. Our largest trout went 25 inches. We are going out tommorow morning,if anyone is there I will be in a 24ft fishmaster and will happily share what we are catching our fish on.

ritch sounds like you had a good day, i always liked fishing sabine area we used to live in orange. i have been back a couple of times acouple of times. always had a hard time finding place to stay close to good fishing on lower part of lake or pass. has that changed any. thanks bill

Hello capt. There are several places to stay in port author but not anywhere down on the south end of lake. Trout are all over jetties right now.

ritch , that is exciting news to hear ! My dad bought 5 lots and a house in Sabine Pass a block and a halve from the public boat ramp . He plans to retire and move there in November . Dad and I plan to do much fishing . He has a 24ft deep V for offshore and I plan on getting a bay boat for Kieth lake and the jettys .
