^^^ This. I've also seen braid will wear a tiny "v" groove in an unprotected eyelet.

Super easy. I followed some instructions I found on Youtube, bought a replacement from Academy and a little super glue. As an extra I ended up using electrical tape also then melted it around the eye base.

No donโt use that. You can replace the eyelet without issues.

I'm using mono for the backing because the braid I have coming in the mail is only a 150yd spool of 50 lb reaction tackle braid and the backing is 30 lb berkley big game mono.
