I know this is the bass section but this might affect a lot of you. I heard today something about the SRA banning Tiny Homes on Lake Fork and if you have an existing home you will have to move it. This just a rumor or does this have serious traction?

Unless your property is included in some sort of existing HOA I don't see how they could legally enforce such a change...

Because of lease back. You don't wn shoreline at Fork. SRA owns the shoreline on Fork from waters edge to so many feet back. Same on Toledo Bend.

It's only on SRA leaseback property. There has always been a rule about no permanent structures on leaseback property.

There has never been grey area. SRA has always owned the leaseback.

10 years ago or so I wanted to take the wheels off my 5th wheel to store them since we never pulled the RV. We had waterfront at Fork and had very nice underpinning for the RV that was OEM and matched. SRA would not allow it. If wheels are removed it is considered a permanent structure.

From 403' msl to 412' msl or a minimum of 200 feet from 403' msl.

It’s been the talk of the town around here for the last month or so. The “changes” are just a proposal at the moment. No one was supposed to be living full time in rvs or park models if the unit was on SRA land that they leased to the park owners who in turn lease it to individuals. A lot of people have been ignoring this and living in various parks full time. Some park owners ignored it and some parks owners have been strict about it. There are around 40 tv parks in the lake. They might be trying to enforce that. That’s just one part of it as there’s a lot more to the proposal that could affect parks in different ways so I’ll post the link to the proposal so that anyone interested can read through it as there is a lot of hearsay on the matter.

The proposed changes are in red.

I believe they want these units that are on leaseback to be movable on short notice in the event of a “1,000 year flood.” That’s harder to do with the park models as people take the tongue assembly off and some I’ve seen remove the wheels. Again, there is a lot more to it and only time will tell what they decide to do. It’s definitely gotten things stirred up for those who lease spots on Fork.

Hmmm thats lots of red, guess you have until December 31 2030 to move your tiny home off their land.

Discussing the leaseback changes isn't on the agenda until the next scheduled meeting (I think it's in April). Folks driving down there to hopefully make a 3 minute comment at the end of the meeting (after they've all sent letters) are pretty much just wasting their time IMO... The facebook group comments are fun to read... Lots of folks squawking that SRA scheduled the meeting at 9:15 A.M. and in Center so it would be a burden for them to attend not bothering to check that the SRA board meetings are always in Center and always at 9:15 AM..

How does SRA stand to benefit from this proposal? There has to be some financial motive driving this. And why now?
I’m all for SRA cracking down on unscrupulous park owners. Aside from that I don’t really understand their reasoning.
