If you gain weight over the holidays, it’ll probably just be a pound or two. The New England Journal of Medicine published a study of adults showing that the average holiday weight gain was .37 kilograms, or just under a pound, and more than half the people in the study stayed within a kilogram, or just over two pounds, of their other weigh-ins.
“If you start to push the envelope at Thanksgiving and proceed to green-light every Christmas cookie and cocktail, you could put on five,” says Lauren Slayton, MS, RD, a New York City dietician and founder of Foodtrainers. “But I think all the holiday weight gain hysteria has made most people aware enough to be reasonable.”
Just want to make folks smile, and spit coffee on their keyboard.
If you put beans in your chili, you don't know beans about chili.
God doesn't create temporary people, you will spend eternity somewhere. Choose wisely.

Pecan pie usually accounts for 3 or 4 pounds. Buttermilk fudge rounds it up to an even 5.

If you follow any kind of weight maintenance diet. There's three times a year you can pig out. Your birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
It's OK to celebrate. Three days out the year isn't going to make you fat.

Big meal you don't eat the rest of the year. Having things like pecan, pumpkin, or sweet potato pie. Chocolate and cookies.

The new med my neurologist put me on this week as a preventative for my headaches has a side effect of increased appetite. A close friend of mine that is a physician warned me about it when I told them what I had been prescribed...glad they did, because I was not prepared to be hungry when I dang sure shouldn't be hungry. I have the appetite I did when I was 18, but I ain't doing the work I was back then. I haven't gained anything for a while, so hopefully I won't during the holidays either.

I always gain a few lbs. over the holidays. Easy enough to loose them after, but it is not fun being disciplined I must add.
